Seen from a helicopter, the Institute defines the western edge of the Columbia Universtiy Medical Center in upper Manhattan. Pedestrian bridges, spanning Riverside Drive, connect the new facility to the rest of the campus: The Kolb Research Laboratory Building (red brick structure) on the north and the Milstein Hospital on the south.
