Columbia’s Department of Psychiatry provides many clinical fellowship opportunities for graduates of residency training programs. These include training in consultation-liaison psychiatry, child and adolescent psychiatry, public psychiatry, forensic psychiatry, emergency psychiatry, addiction psychiatry, geriatric psychiatry and advanced training and certification in psychoanalysis at Columbia’s preeminent Psychoanalytic Institute.

 

PUBLIC PSYCHIATRY FELLOWSHIP

Now in its twenty-seventh year, the Public Psychiatry Fellowship of New York State Psychiatric Institute at Columbia University Medical Center was initiated in 1981 with funds from the New York State Office of Mental Health (OMH).

HEALTH AND AGING POLICY FELLOWS PROGRAM

Funded by The Atlantic Philanthropies, The Health and Aging Policy Fellows Program is a national program that seeks to provide professionals in health and aging with the experience and skills necessary to make a positive contribution to the development and implementation of health policies that affect older Americans.

PSYCHOSOMATIC MEDICINE FELLOWSHIP

This is a one year fellowship, based at New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center, offering advanced clinical and academic training in Psychosomatic Medicine (Consultation-Liaison Psychiatry).

STATEWIDE GERIATRIC PSYCHIATRY FELLOWSHIP

The outstanding feature of the program is its innovative and unique combination of educational and clinical experiences in a variety of federally-designated medically underserved areas.

FORENSIC PSYCHIATRY FELLOWSHIP

Fellows receive a broad exposure to forensic psychiatry through clinical rotations, a rich didactic experience, and supervision by senior faculty.

EMERGENCY PSYCHIATRY FELLOWSHIP

This is a one-year fellowship, based at the New York Presbyterian Hospital Columbia University Medical Center Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP).

 

 

Psychiatry – Family Medicine Fellowship

This two-year clinical, teaching, and research fellowship at the Columbia University Medical Center is for board-eligible Family Medicine physicians seeking further training in psychiatry and its overlap with neurology, infectious disease, and immunology.

THE DR. JUNE JACKSON CHRISTMAS MEDICAL STUDENT SUMMER FELLOWSHIP

The Dr. June Jackson Christmas Medical Student Fellowship offers a chance for medical students who belong to historically underrepresented racial and ethnic groups to explore a career in psychiatry.
