Family Medicine Fellowship

Description

One to two-year fellowship opportunity, depending on level of training and experience, for board-eligible Family Medicine physician in New York City at Columbia University Medical Center. Applications are currently being reviewed for July. This fellowship focuses on neuropsychiatry and will include training in neuropsychology, psychiatry, neurology, somatoform illness, chronic pain, and tick-borne diseases. This fellowship is jointly sponsored at Columbia University Medical Center by the Department of Psychiatry and the Center for Family and Community Medicine.  The Fellow will participate in training and teaching opportunities in both Psychiatry and Family Medicine. Extensive mentorship in clinical care and clinical research will be provided by Dr. Brian Fallon whose work falls on the boundaries of psychiatry, neurology, and medicine.  Dr. Fallon directs the Lyme & Tick-borne Diseases Research Center at Columbia University and is known also for research on Somatic Symptom Disorders and Illness Anxiety Disorder. By the end of two years, the Fellow will be well trained in clinical research, in Lyme and Tick-borne Diseases, in clinical  neuropsychiatry, and in chronic pain.  Applicants must have an interest in clinical research, a desire to develop further expertise in neuropsychiatry, an interest in teaching and writing, and enjoy working in a team.

Eligibility  

- Completion of accredited Family Medicine residency training program

- New York state medical licensure
