CME EVENT (April 4 & 5) - The Third Annual Advances in Psychiatry: A Guide to Clinical PracticeProgram Description & ObjectivesThis conference is designed for psychiatrists in clinical practice and other mental health professionals involved in the treatment of psychiatric disorders in adults. The faculty of this conference will include members of the Department of Psychiatry at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons and the New York State Psychiatric Institute. Faculty involved in research and academic programs will address common clinical dilemmas with practical solutions informed by available evidence. Course participants will acquire knowledge about the diagnosis and treatment of the major psychiatric illnesses in adults, with a focus on the integration of recent research findings in clinical decision-making. At the conclusion of the program they will be better able to use research findings to manage clinical situations and to evaluate new data as it emerges.
