The New York State Psychiatric Institute offers treatment services through various clinical programs, including inpatient and outpatient treatment. Many of our treatment services are offered through participation in studies. Our clinical programs are supported by services including clinical psychology, nursing, recreational and occupational therapy, and social work.
We also have the Patient and Family Library and Learning Education Center that offers education and information about psychiatric disorders and treatments and is designed to meet the needs of mental health consumers and their families. The library is ensconced next to the majestic, historic Hudson River. The library has a beautiful view overlooking the Hudson River and New Jersey. The fourth longest suspension bridge in America, the George Washington Bridge is also visible from the library. It provides a comfortable place to spend some time, and meet with friendly, helpful, professional staff who can help you find what you need. You are welcome to browse at your leisure. The library provides mental health information on disorders, treatments, community resources, and coping.
